25th Anniversary
For the past 25 years, we are proud to be part of Thailand sugarcane plantation industry.
Soil Preparation for Sugarcane Planting
Till soil with good. moisture to proper depth and harrow hard and soil compact from previous crop’s ratoons. Ploughing to break up the soil is not necessary if planting starts in early rainy season or use irrigation water. However, for dry and late rainy season, breaking up the soil will help to protect soil moisture.
Weeds Control
Use AUTHORITY: 250 ml/ rai, controls broadleaf weeds and nut grass. Spray on soil 7 days in advance before tillage to prevent emergence of grass seeds and nut grass rootstocks
New Planting
After soil preparation, operate tractor with billet planter to furrow the soil, plant the cane, cover and fertilize the soil. Use Baka Complex 24-8-7: จำนวน 50 kg/ rai. Use together with planting and weeds control products even on dry soil.
Recommended Herbicides
1. BK ranger + X:1 bottle use for spraying 2-2.5 rai, controls narrowleaf & broadleaf weeds and sedge (before shoot opening)
2. BK metal + Zapic: 1 bottle use for spraying 4-5 rai, controls narrowleaf & broadleaf weeds and sedge (before shoot opening)
3. Cadre + STOMP: 1 bottle use for spraying 4-5 rai, controls narrowleaf & broadleaf weeds and sedge (before shoot opening)
Ratooning Stage
Ratooning should be done immediately or within 15 days unless stubble shaving is already done near to the ground level.
Mix cane leaves with soil and do basal dressing – Baka Complex 24-8-7: 50/ rai and top dressing – Baka Complex 13-10-20: 50 kg/ rai
Recommended Herbicides
1. BECANO: 20 ml/ rai, controls various species of narrowleaf weeds
2. AUTHORITY: 250 ml/ rai, controls broad leaf weeds and nut grass
Grand Growth Stage
Cane formation and elongation stalks grow rapidly during this period. Grand growth phase starts from 3-4 months after planting and lasts up to 7-8 months after which sugar synthesis takes place and rapid accumulation of sugar occurs. Stalk formation and elongation during this period affects the weight of each stalk directly and thus, the yield of the whole harvest. The height of the stalks at this
stage will be approximately 15 cm.
Recommended Herbicides
1. BECANO: 20 ml/ rai mix with Dyuron: 500 ml/ rai
(For small weeds and cane plantation near tapioca plantation; spray while soil contains moisture)
2. BECANO: 20 ml/ rai – mix with- Max-Post: 500 grams/ rai – mix with – Zytron 125 ml/ rai(For narrowleaf and broadleaf grass seed emergence; spray while soil contains moisture)
3. BECANO: 20 ml/ rai mix with Velpar-K: 500 ml/ rai
(For weeds with approximate 12 cm length; spray while soil contains moisture)
4. BECANO: 20 ml/ rai mix with BAKACANE 100 gram/ rai
(For large weed; spray while soil contains moisture)
5. Velpar-K: 400 ml/ rai – controls narrowleaf and broadleaf grass
Sugarcane needs weed-free period of at least the first 3-4 months of planting. Heavy weeds slow down growth and lower yield. Resisting weeds in cane plantation
1. Nadi blue grass, common grass, whip grass, Beach wiregrass, etc.
2. Clamber weeds – widespread in both clay soil and sandy soil, both new planting and ratooning. Clamber weeds grow, flower and seed rapidly. Grow simultaneously, they are hard to be eliminated. Examples are fever vine, hog vine, wild Petunia.
3. Nut grass – grows from its tubers, the leaves sprout rapidly in ranks of three from the base of the plant. It spreads rapidly through seeds that germinate and sprout into new plants or via underground stem, its rootstocks. Wide spreading of nut grass reduces cane yield.
Recommended Herbicides
1. DASAFLO: 1,000 ml/ rai, controls narrowleaf and broadleaf weeds (Do not spray on cane shootings)
2. ZYTRON:125 ml/ rai, controls clamber weeds and broadleaf weeds (No harm to spray on cane shootings)
3. AUTHORITY: 250 ml/ rai, controls broadleaf weeds and nut grass, spray on soil 7 days before tilling to prevent emergence of grass seeds and nut grass rootstocks
4. AUTHORITY: 250 ml/ rai, spray area of nut grass. Continuous application for 2-3 years will reduce nutgrass propagation as it damages the rootstocks underground
